piercing

This happened so long ago that not even the oldest grandfather would remember. For reasons unknown to us, a dragon decided to adorn itself. As if by chance, a knight happened to be nearby on his own business. When their eyes met, the knight’s heart did not falter, and he bravely attacked the beast. After everything that transpired between them, the dragon thanked the courageous man.

The work draws on fairy-tale archetypes but transforms their logic into a contemporary, even absurdly human, narrative. Tongue and nose piercings are modern fashion details that dragons normally would not need. Yet in this story, even the beast seeks aesthetics, using the traditional battle as a means to achieve its goal.

A comical yet meaningful win-win situation: one adorned, the other heroic. Perhaps sometimes the goal lies somewhere entirely unexpected, and an unexpected encounter opens a new level of reality where struggle and beauty merge.
